Member of Technical Staff for Multiple Software positions

Syntiant Member of Technical Staff positions are for experienced and innovative practitioners of several software and machine learning disciplines. Example problem areas are in neural network optimization, cloud orchestration, sound/speech problems, full stack web development, and embedded software. All candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Strong fundamentals in software development practices (e.g., Git, continuous integration, testing, GitLab, etc.)

  • Comfortable at the Linux command line

  • Experience working with AWS, Google Cloud or similar development and deployment environments

  • Competence in high-level scripting languages (e.g. Python)

  • 4+ years experience with Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. education


Sr. Product Engineer

Primary responsibility to bring IC products to high-volume production. Primary interface to internal design teams, primary interface to suppliers and other 3rd party contractors and interfacing with customers regarding any and all production related issues. Responsible for the product from product inception all the way through end of life of the product.


Main duties for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Interface with design groups to ensure manufacturability of the product, including testability, yield, and quality

  • In case 3rd party IP is integrated with the product, ensure manufacturability, yield and testability of 3rd party IP

  • Close interaction with quality to ensure necessary quality requirements are properly implemented

  • Deliver production test program for the product, including HW development and bench correlation

  • Manage test program transfer to overseas test-house

  • Execute on product qualification of the product, including selection/qualification/interfacing with necessary 3rd party partners (HTOL, ESD, LU), package qualification and board qualification

  • Define and deliver package for the product

  • Drive product qualification schedule

  • Deliver required product qualification documentation

  • Maintain traceability of production flow

  • Drive ongoing cost reduction for the product (test time reduction, yield optimization)

  • Day to day management of foundry partner(s)

  • Day to day management of test partner(s)

  • Day to day management of packaging partner(s)

  • Own tape-out process including check-list

  • Manage field returns

  • Manage production release process

  • Manage product qualification budget

  • Own cost model and manage over-all cost trade-offs during product development process

  • Planning of test-chips, engineering samples and early production ramp


Minimum qualifications:

10+ years of relevant industry experience

  • B.Sc, M.Sc in EE preferred

  • Candidate has been responsible to drive silicon products into high-volume production with tier-1 customers

  • Experience with auto-motive products is a plus

  • Experience with embedded flash technology is a plus

  • Delivered products in advanced CMOS process nodes

  • Thorough understanding of industry requirements for high-volume Si product qualification and involvement with standards bodies (JEDEC)

  • Excellent network with tier-1 suppliers in the entire silicon supply chain

  • Fluent with Teradyne or Advantest test platforms

  • Proven debugging skills

  • Proven program management skills

  • Great team player, communicator and collaborator

IC Flow and Back-End Engineer

IC and system-on-chip flow expert, proficient in hardware synthesis, placement, routing, along with timing flows to delivery GDS to a foundry.

  • Assemble and build synthesis flows for padring + digital subsystems

  • Analog + memory MACRO placement and floorplanning

  • Handle SDC constraints for multi-clock designs

  • Generate speed/area/power reports for design verification and timing signoff

  • Handle DFT, scan insertion, clock tree

  • Final physical verification on LVS + DRC + fill

  • ECO flows

  • Process evaluation and target libraries, technology selection

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience

  • B.Sc, M.Sc in EE preferred

  • Direct involvement in tools flow development for high-volume production designs

Verification Engineer

Member of Technical Staff position is for experienced SoC verification engineer responsible for pre-silicon RTL verification at the block and top-level SoC.  

  • Expertise in HDL languages, Verilog and SystemVerilog, SystemC is desired

  • Skilled in many aspects of digital verification such as constrained random verification process, functional coverage, code coverage, assertion methodology & philosophy

  • Solid verification skills in problem solving and debugging

  • Programming experience in C/C++ as well as Python

  • Exposure to UVM is desired

  • Work on HW/SW emulation platforms


Minimum qualifications:

  • MS degree in EE, 5+ years relevant experience in SoC verification

Member of Technical Staff position responsible for implementing the Hardware Design-for-Test (DFT) features that support ATE, in-system test, debug and diagnostics needs of the design.

  • Work closely with the design/design-verification and physical design teams to enable the integration and validation of the Test logic in all phases of the design, and back-end implementation flow.

  • Excellent knowledge of latest state-of-the-art trends in DFT and test.

  • Hands-on experience with Jtag protocols, Scan and BIST architectures, including memory BIST, IO BIST

  • Verification skills include, System Verilog, UVM, Logic Equivalency checking and validating the Test-timing of the design.

  • Experience working with Gate level simulation, and debug with VCS and other simulators.

  • Working with Cadence Modus flow is a plus

Product Line Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with and document updates to product information from Syntiant engineering teams and operations teams

  • Monitor and review product phases from prospect through to production, holding regular reviews

  • Contribute to and execute marketing activities, such as preparing products and collateral for domestic and international conferences 

  • Effective marketing and promotion of Syntiant Neural Decision Processor products and Syntiant AI technology

  • Develop and maintain up to date knowledge of the relevant markets. Understand and interpret market requirements / trends and provide clear direction for the company

  • Develop and demonstrate Syntiant leadership and differentiation in the market with a targeted marketing plan

  • Regularly review customer forecast and revenue projections against plan

  • Work with Syntiant sales and customer support teams to identify, develop and secure design wins 

  • Ensure sales and customer support teams are up-to-date with the latest platform and product information and are aligned on strategic and commercial goals 

  • Continuously monitor and analyze competitor activities within the market and our customers

  • Identify and justify new platforms, product and market opportunities to enhance the near-term and long-term competitiveness of the roadmap 

  • Will be measured by meeting/beating revenue and market share targets for the relevant market segments

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science

  • 5-10 years technical marketing experience gained in an applications, product marketing or sales role within the semiconductor industry. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Extensive experience with technology in consumer products, with demonstrated multimedia or audio expertise

  • Extensive customer facing experience

  • Demonstrated track record of defining differentiated technical offerings and communicating them to customers.

Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst

Job Summary:
This position will have primary responsibility for inventory costing and accounting, and will also support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and modeling for our manufacturing and operations function.


Primary Activities:

  • Inventory costing and accounting, including variance analysis, in a standard cost environment.

  • Accounting and analysis of sales returns, warranty provision, distributor/reseller arrangements, and other key revenue and cost of revenue analysis.

  • Support operational reviews of manufacturing variances and standard costing updates.

  • Revise and validate standard rates for labor and overhead as well as standard costs for wafers, sub-assemblies and finished goods; measure inventory impact; review with management.

  • Cost analysis including actual/forecast, fixed/variable, absorption, yield, utilization, etc.

  • Monitor cycle count reporting process and physical inventory procedures. 

  • Financial modeling and accounting for operational capital expenditures.

  • Assist in general ledger entries, reconciliations, and account analysis for product cost of goods sold, inventory, and other balance sheet and income statement items.

  • Ownership of critical internal controls, working with external auditors as needed.

  • Prepare internal reporting including operating metrics, financial controls and performance indicators that will help in improving business performance.

  • Annual planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial close.

  • Business partner for manufacturing/operations teams.

  • Ad hoc analysis.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  CMA or CPA desired.

  • 5+ years of experience with strong manufacturing, inventory, cost and operations focus; semiconductor industry experience strongly desired.

  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and internal control structures.

  • Exposure to an organization with multiple operating entities and international operations.

  • Financial modeling and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel.

  • May require some international travel.
